About American Estate & Trust, LC (AE-Trust)
American Estate & Trust, LC (AE-Trust) wholly owns and operates the web site, IRAcentral.com. AE-Trust is a state of Nevada licensed trust company, meeting all state require-ments for capital reserves and bonding. The company is regulated and audited by Nevada Financial Institutions Division (FID), which is the state's financial institutions regulatory body. Background checks on AE-Trust principals are performed by FID.
As a trust company, AE-Trust must maintain minimum capital reserves and meet certain other stringent standards of honesty, competence, compliance with the law, etc.
Under our license from Nevada, and under Internal Revenue Service regulations, AE-Trust is allowed to: Provide full custo-dial and administrative services for IRAs, 401(k)s, health and educational savings accounts and pooled investment funds (typically for private placements); act as an independent and professional trustee for private trusts (living trusts, etc.); and provide escrow and qualified intermediary services for 1031 real estate exchanges.
AE-Trust is an Accredited Business and member in good standing of the Better Business Bureau, with no complaints having ever been lodged against the firm.
Management Team
Mike Janko, President, CEA ®. Mike Janko is the founder of American Estate & Trust, LC. He also founded the National Association of Financial & Estate Planning in 1993 (NAFEP: www.nafep.com). Mr. Janko researched and developed an extensive number of estate and tax planning programs, products, and services. He developed and authored a nationally recognized, in-depth training and certification program, known as Certified Estate Advisor (CEA®). Since 1993 he has serviced thousands of trusts in every conceivable trust transaction and legal need. Mr. Janko is recognized as one of the nation's leading trust and estate planning experts and regularly provides consulting to attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors on trust and estate planning matters.
Scott Janko, Vice-President, BBA Bus, MSM Bus, CEA ®. Scott Janko has over twenty years experience in executive management positions with several small and Fortune 500 firms. He also serves as President of National Association of Financial and Estate Planning (NAFEP). Prior to his NAFEP and AE-Trust positions, he spent 6 years as Senior Consultant at IBM, where he created management systems for and provided consulting to Fortune 500 companies. His primary areas of responsibility for AE-Trust are IRA consulting, trust accounting management and information systems management.
Brian Tillotson, General Counsel. Brian Tillotson is a member of the Utah State Bar's real property, estate planning, and banking and finance sections and past member of the American Bar Association's business law, taxation, real property, and estate planning sections. As corporate counsel, he advises AE-Trust on federal law issues related to complex business, tax, real estate and retirement planning structures. Mr. Tillotson also possesses over fifteen years of business systems and management experience. He is currently completing a Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Utah.
Lori Fulmer, Operations Officer. Ms. Fulmer has over twenty years experience in accounting and bank oversight positions. She has a degree in accounting from Washington State University and is certified by the Mortgage Banker Association. Ms. Fulmer has extensive experience in managing and oversight of bank: Teller operations, transaction processing, monetary security, compliance, auditing and cash handling. Before joining AE-Trust, she worked four years as a bank branch manager overseeing daily operations, mortgage loan origination, managing all personnel, preparing financial reports of operations and conducting audits.
Ben Barker, IRA Investment Services. IRA Investment Services. Ben Barker previously held positions as Accounting Manager for a retail outlet chain and as a financial analyst for an educational firm. Ben is a Certified Estate Advisor® with five years experience as a fiduciary officer, and he has extensive experience in the creation of trusts, business entities and retirement accounts. At AE-Trust Ben supports and directs precious metals and alternative IRA investing (such as real estate, private placements and private businesses), plus the creation of IRA and solo 401(k) plans.
Special Counsel
Michael T. Sawyier, Special Counsel, J.D., LL.M., LL.M. (TAX), Attorney at Law, Chicago, Illinois and Highland, Indiana. Mr. Sawyier received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University (having entered as an advanced placement sophomore), his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School (where he served on the Law Review), an LL.M. in International Law from Yale University Law School and, in 2000, an additional LL.M. in Tax Law from The John Marshall Law School. Mr. Sawyier concentrates his practice in the areas of estate and business planning, business law, and real estate. He has practiced in the Chicago area for more than 25 years. He acts as special counsel to AE-Trust for various tax and legal matters.
RONALD L. NOLL, Special Trust Tax Counsel, CPA, CEA ®, Master of Science in Taxation (summa cum laude). Founder and President of Noll & Company, Inc., a CPA firm in Malvern, PA. Mr. Noll has a broad background in accounting and taxation, plus extensive knowledge of and experience in estate planning. He has been in public accounting since 1974. He was President once and Vice President twice of the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants and is past President of the National Association of Small Business Accountants. Mr. Noll speaks at many American Institute of CPA (AICPA) tax conferences, and has had academic research and reference materials published by the AICPA.
