AE-Trust provides independent and professional trustee services for both new trusts which we create and for existing trusts which were created elsewhere (upon review and approval). In addition, we act as custodian for self directed IRA accounts. Our rates and fees are among the trust company industry's lowest, while the services we provide are the industry's most comprehensive and powerful.

As a trustee of your family trust (living trust, asset protection trust, etc.) all assets which are in the trust are titled in the name of AE-Trust, and in the name of any co-trustee which may also have been appointed by you. While this gives the trustee(s) signature authority over asset transactions, the trustee is required and regulated by federal and state law to use its signature control strictly to administer and execute the planning provisions which you have placed in the trust, or which you require from time to time.

Why Use a Professional Trustee?

You may be at a point in your life where you no longer have the ability or no longer want the hassle of administering your estate. Once these assets are in a trust the trustee can take care of all the administrative details, even if you should become mentally incapacitated. Upon your death the trustee will ensure that your estate passes to your heirs in the timing and manner which you dictated in the trust. If you choose to act as trustee of your living trust during your life, you can simply name AE-Trust as the successor trustee, to take over only in the event of your incapacitation or death. This of course must be coordinated with us in advance.

You may not feel that you have heirs whom you can fully trust to administer your estate, or who are capable of administering it. If they make the wrong mistake it can cost you everything you have built up over your lifetime. This problem is often best solved by using a professional, regulated trust company, such as AE-Trust. Our years of experience at estate and tax planning, creating estate plans and trusts, business creation and planning, and administering thousands of trusts gives us the professionalism and expertise necessary to take care of your estate and any problems which may arise.

Additionally, human trustees may resign, die, become mentally incapacitated or become distracted by their life's entanglements. If this happens while they are trustee of your trust estate, it is a huge hassle to replace them and can be quite costly. A professional trust company doesn't die (the state regulators and IRS have set up strict contingency planning to prevent this), and it doesn't become incapacitated or distracted.

Certain tax planning strategies which you may wish to employ, including estate, income and capital gains taxes, require an independent party to be in the administrative role over the plan. These include: Custodian of IRA plans, trustee of certain types of trusts which provide advanced estate tax planning, and trustee administrator of the self directed installment sale (for capital gains deferral) offered thru AE-Trust.

All administrative details, including preparation of tax returns and other tax reporting requirements of your trust or other plan are part of the services and expertise provided by AE-Trust. Acting as a trustee is our full time business. We have extensive experience at this and focus our full resources on taking care of you, your assets and heirs.
